MS Degree Program

Area of Concentration in
Computer Based Education

Computer-based education (CBE) or e-learning--involving either traditional schools or virtual universities--has become an accepted form of education in the last decade. In CBE, computers and other electronic devices are integrated into the learning experience. This concentration includes computer-aided instruction and distance learning.

The CBE concentration is intended for those who want to combine courses in computer and information systems with courses in education management and computer-based instructional systems. It can be an effective choice for teachers, education managers and others interested in a career in education. Students choosing this field will be able to manage distance-learning projects and design e-learning systems.

Degree Requirements

The CBE concentration requires 30 credit hours of coursework, a nine-credit-hour individual research project, and successful completion of a comprehensive exam.
